Protection Dog Training- Learning How To Dance!

Serious protection dog training is like learning how to dance with a partner. Back tying a dog to a post and having it bite a sleeve while the agitator hits the dog with a stick, is at the knuckle dragger level of protection skill! Learning how to dance with a partner takes time. You’re gonna step on each other’s toes, you’re going to stumble, and yes, you may even fall a time or two. You’re not going to glide across the floor like Fred Astaire or tap out a rhythm like Sammy Davis Jr. without putting in the time.

Clear and well-understood commands are a fundamental MUST-HAVE for protection dog training. Over time, you and the dog become extensions of one another, working together to get out of a tight spot. This was a fun session, and I’m sure we’re heading in the right direction.
